The AGSRA is a fund raising/educational organization. The funds we receive are used to advance the work of organizations rescuing German Shepherd Dogs. This meets our goal of protecting the German Shepherd Dog from suffering due to cruelty, homelessness, ignorance, neglect and misuse.
DIRECTORY OF RESCUES BY STATE
A directory of German Shepherd rescue organizations is maintained and updated annually. Currently there are over 125 rescues across the United States .
THE HELP LINE REFERRAL NETWORK 630-529-7396
A voice mail message directs the caller to the contact in their region. One of the nine regional contacts assists the caller with their problem and/or refers them to their local rescue organization.
EMERGENCY RESCUE RESPONSE
Funds are available to provide assistance for catastrophic events such as hurricane, floods, rescues involving large numbers of dogs, etc. These are handled on a one to one basis.

Linda Kury. This contains up to date information on the most appropriate and legal ways to operate a rescue organization and its activities. Members of AGSRA are available for consultation to new or ongoing rescue groups

This amount covered only a portion of the costs to re-home 52 German Shepherd Dogs reflecting a small portion of the amount each rescue spends per year on the dogs it saves.
Requests for funds are always higher than the amount available.
Rescue organizations charge adoption fees and do fund raising but these amounts are typically inadequate to cover all their expenses.
