Your Donations Can Save Lives
Sandi is well on her way to a
complete recovery thanks to Little Paws Dog Rescue in Iowa.
Sandi is the sweetest two year old German Shepherd you could meet. Unfortunately she was hit by a car on highway 30 near Mt.
Vernon, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 16th 2009 and although that person did not stop, thankfully two others did.
Sandi was taken to Frey Pet Hospital for x-rays and then transferred to the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center for stabilization and further care.
Sandi
was well cared for until Monday, Oct. 19th when she made the trip to Des
Moines for surgery. Her doctors at Iowa Veterinary Specialists needed to
repair a fractured right femur, fractured left hip, and a pneumothorax.
Sandi is doing much better now.
Dr Reiner did a great job with repairs. Sandi is walking and putting some weight on her right leg. The left leg is not quite there yet but should come along with time. Her reflexes are much improved.
Sandi should make a full recovery but it will take some time. Sandi’s heart, attitude and spunk along with amazing vet care sparked her recovery.
